Project Humanities welcomes undergraduate students to participate in various aspects of our program activities, events, and research as an intern. Throughout the year, we seek students who demonstrate a commitment to Project Humanities and social justice issues, have the ability to work independently, and desire to participate in community building. Internship responsibilities vary and are mutually agreed upon. Our interns may choose from one of the three tracks: Social Media Marketing InternPrograms Intern or Homeless Outreach Intern.

Social Media Marketing Internship

Examples of responsibilities:

  • This internship will predominately be focused on event coverage, social media reporting, TikTok and community management.
  • Collaborate with social team to create new content strategies for showcasing our initiative, specifically focused on IG and TikTok.
  • Support in-person and virtual event coverage.
  • Support publishing across our channels (IG, FB, Twitter, TikTok, Youtube).
  • Engage in community management/ response across social channels.
  • Recognize trending topics and conversations in real-time to capitalize on content opportunities.

Programs Internship

Examples of responsibilities:

  • Explore strategies to connect our events with student audiences .
  • Research social justice issues as related to events.
  • Help moderate or facilitate events.
  • Create content for social media posts (images, articles, videos, etc.).
  • Write Project Humanities event reviews and reports.
  • Tasks as assigned.

Homeless Outreach Internship

Examples of responsibilities:

  • Attend weekly, Friday afternoon sorting to document and organize donations for storage and distribution.
  • Attend biweekly, early morning Service Saturdays (every other Saturday) for items distribution with volunteers.
  • Create and coordinate donation drives.
  • Correspond with supporters via email, Facebook, or text.
  • Research issues connected to homelessness.

*Only In-person

Internship Expectations

  • Semester-long commitment.
  • Follow a consistent, regular working schedule of at least 12 hours a week.
  • Attend weekly, 45-minute meetings with other interns and Project Humanities staff for weekly updates and assignments.
  • Mandatory participation and attendance in at least 3 events.
  • Proactive, timely communication.

Internships are granted on a rolling basis. To apply, please submit a one-page cover-letter that describes why you are interested in working with Project Humanities and a one-page resume listing relevant experiences, achievements, club/sport/volunteer participations.
