Just as there are no perfect people, there is no such thing as "perfect" caregiving, but the research is clear that consistent nurturance and discipline play a vital role in the healthy development of children. "Toxic parenting" can be described not as one-off incidents, but rather scenarios of repetitious manipulation, guilt, fear, abuse, and/or unhealthy boundaries. How can parenting practices and behaviors impact a child's development and sense of self? How does one heal from the effects of "toxic parenting"? What is considered "toxic"? Join this discussion that addresses these and other questions around the complexities of parenting.
